World Cup Extra Time Rules, No Golden Goal or Sudden Death in the 2010 World Cup. What you have seen in the USA vs Ghana game today was two periods of 15 minutes each were added.
So what are the World Cup Extra Time rules? If the game is tied after 90 minutes of play, then a 15-minute period is added. If they are still tied, another 15 minutes is added. If they are still tied after the second 15-minute period, penalty kicks are given to break the tie.
There is 15 minutes left , if the US don't score they are out , if they score and it remains 1-1 , then it goes to penalties.
Ghana scored in the 3rd minute of extra team after the full 90 minutes had played because they are in the knockout stages and there can't be a draw.
If the game is still a tie after the full 90 minutes , it goes to 30 minutes of extra time which is being played now.
