Test Captain Mohammad Yousuf Blasts Selectors

HOBART : Hapless Pakistan's tour-long selection dramas have flared again with Test captain Mohammad Yousuf blasting the failure to send his predecessor, Younis Khan, to Australia earlier. Younis will return to national colours after being named in a 17-man squad for the five-match one-day series against Australia, starting on Friday in Brisbane. But after watching his team's top-order once again collapse at Bellerive Oval, Yousuf was upset Younis wasn't called in to reinforce their inexperienced line-up during the three-Test series.

The former captain, who rested himself after feeling he "lost control" of his side in November, was forced to prove himself in Pakistan domestic cricket despite announcing his willingness to play last month.

Yousuf told cricket website Cricinfo there was no reason why the national selectors should have waited so long before sending Younis down under.

"You can ask the selectors about why they didn't send him earlier.

"We don't need to check him in first-class cricket. He has a 50 average and has been doing it for 10 years.

"We have to see him here, not there. Will someone also take my test (to prove form) from now on?"

Yousuf has endured a strained relationship with his national selection panel, headed by Iqbal Qasim, throughout the Australian tour.

The committee sent batsman Misbah-ul-Haq on tour in New Zealand after he'd previously been dropped from all forms of the game while vice-captain Kamran Akmal, an on-tour selector, was forced to reluctantly fall on his sword for the third Test.

Kamran had twice defiantly said he would not drop himself while his brother reportedly feigned an injury and threatened to boycott the Hobart Test in response.

Christian Jones

Christian Jones, Lake Howell LB Christian Jones ended the suspense when he chose FSU live on national television, picking the Seminoles over UF, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee. It had long been speculated Jones would attend FSU, where his father and brother played. The commitment from the Sentinel's top rated player in Central Florida is huge for the Seminoles and new coach Jimbo Fisher.

"It was about me being comfortable with all of the guys there," Jones said about the coaching staff. "I'm going somewhere where people will take care of me. I talked it over with my dad and my brother and we felt this is the best place for me."Read More Read More

Players Say They Will Play in CWG, Davis Cup

Players say they will play in CWG, Davis CupNew Delhi: Ending the stalemate over a payment dispute, India's revolting tennis players today said they will represent the country in the upcoming Davis Cup tie and Commonwealth Games after being given an assurance by the Sports Ministry.

The star quartet of Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna had written a joint letter to AITA threatening to pull out of Games if their dues for the CWG preparations will not be paid.

The four players today issued a joint statement, confirming their participation but also hit out at All India Tennis Association for leaking their 'private' mail and not submitting bills to the government for clearance in time.

They asserted that they have submitted all their bills to AITA and the onus is now on the national Federation to get expedite the reimbursement process.

"It is true that we wrote a letter to the AITA to voice some concerns we had about expenses that we were promised over the last year and a half.

"We have all submitted bills to various people at the AITA over this period and now that the AITA has nominated us to represent India we requested them to make sure that the promises made are kept.

"We would like to put all speculation to rest and confirm we will be present in full strength to represent India against Brazil in Chennai in September," the players said in the statement.

The players said they have been assured by the Sports Ministry Joint Secretary (International sports division) that all the dues will be settled soon.

"As for the CWG, Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar has confirmed to us personally there will be no issues on payments once the AITA releases all the bills we have submitted over time and more.

"The issue was meant to be a private matter between the players and the Federation and it deeply disturbs us that all our communication to the AITA was sent out to the media from the AITA office.

"We had no intention to create a media frenzy, just wanted to make sure we get what is due to us. We are hopeful that our genuine concerns will be addressed by our federation transparently without any delay.

"We will continue to be committed to play for our country," they said.

Meanwhile, the AITA Secretary General Anil Khanna welcomed the players' statement and said he will speak to Sport Ministry officials on Monday to sort out the payments.

"I am very pleased to hear about the statement of the players that they are going to play in the Commonwealth Games. I was always 100 % sure that our players, who have stood selflessly by the nation for the last two decades, will continue to serve the nation.

"As regards their grievances, they are being addressed. Mr Jaideep Mukherjea, Chairman CWG Preparation Programme, and I will meet Joint Secretary Mr Rahul Bhatnagar on Monday to sort out the pending issues of the players with the Ministry of Sports," Khanna said in a statement.

Bhatnagar said he has spoken to Bhupathi and blamed AITA for the fracas.

"I don't think there is a standoff. I spoke to Mahesh Bhupathi and he assured me that are no intentions of not playing in the Commonwealth Games," he said.

On being asked why the players' payment were delayed for so long, Bhatnagar blamed the AITA.

"The reason for that is AITA are suppose to submit these bills to us with a certification that players have actually spent the money. For some reasons we have not been getting the bills from AITA in respect to these players," he said.

Fromer Captain Imran Khan Rejects Calls For Cricket Ban

Fromer Captain Imran Khan Rejects Calls For Cricket BanFormer Captain Imran Khan brushed aside calls to ban his nation from international cricket until corruption allegations are investigated, saying a country cannot be punished collectively. Former England captains Ian Botham and Michael Vaughan have demanded Pakistan are kicked out of international cricket until a probe into their cricketers has been completed.

Their calls follow allegations of spot-fixing against Pakistani cricketers during their ongoing tour of England, which triggered a war of words between cricket officials from the two countries.

Former Pakistan cricket captain Khan said a country cannot be thrown out on the basis of allegations.

“In any form of illegal activity you cannot give collective punishment to a country and deprive millions of fans, more so because these are still allegations yet to be proven,” Khan told foreign news agency here.

Khan said the only evidence comes from a newspaper report and its footage.

“The only evidence is that of News of the World footage showing someone (alleged bookie Mazhar Majeed) with money to be given to the players, and on that basis you cannot punish a country,” said Khan, who played 88 Tests and 175 one-day matches for Pakistan.

He said the whole issue should be dealt handled with common sense and urged all parties to refrain from making “inappropriate statements”, referring to comments made by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt.

Butt accused England players of match-fixing in the third one-dayer across London at The Oval on Friday.

“Butt was wrong in levelling allegations,” said Khan. “Even if any other team is involved that does not absolve you.”

Khan said Pakistan’s cricket team has long been a target of British tabloids.

“Remember they called Wasim Akram and Waqar Younus cheats for ball-tampering when they destroyed England on the 1992 tour and when England won the Ashes series in 2005 the reverse swing became an art and skill.

“There are double standards,” said Khan. “When England had fast bowlers there were no curbs on fast bowling but when the West Indies had a battery of fast bowlers it became a threat and so many curbs were put against fast bowlers like restriction on bouncers etc.”

Khan stressed Pakistani cricket “has to put its house in order” adding that, “there should no longer be a PCB chairman nominated by President of Pakistan who is not accountable to anyone.”

Phil Mickelson Wife

Phil Mickelson Wife, In case of Phil Mickelson affair, none of them give a proof. It seems some website has just floted the hot news about affair, than others have followed it so Now the question is, why there's such rumors? Phil Mickelson affair is not only a gossip.

Phil Mickelson claimed his fourth major professional golf title Sunday, winning the U.S. Masters. The American left-hander fired a 5-under-par 67 in the fourth and final round to post a 16-under total of 272 at the Augusta National course.

Jackie Robinson

Jackie Robinson could really get on base. You might not hear much about that, even today on Jackie Robinson Day because, um, it seems to me that he accomplished something other than getting on base that was fairly important. Even when people talk about Jackie Robinson, the player, they will likely concentrate on Robinson's audacious nature as a base runner ― how he would purposely get caught in rundowns, how he would steal home and so on ― or his pure and naked hunger to win.

I sometimes think about a passage in Roger Kahn's illustrious "The Boys of Summer," this comes from May April of 1955 when Sal Maglie was overwhelming the Dodgers. Brooklyn shortstop Pee Wee Reese told Robinson he had to do something.

The bat boy overheard the whispered conversation, and just before Jack stepped in to hit, he said in a voice of anxiety, 'Don't you do it. Let one of the others do it. You do enough.'

Robinson took his stance, bat high. He felt a certain relief. Let someone else do it, for a change.

"Come on Jack," Reese's voice carried from the dugout. "We're counting on you."

Robinson took a deep breath. Somebody else? What somebody else? Hodges? Snider? Damn, there wasn't anybody else.

The bunt carried accurately toward first baseman Whitey Lockman, who scooped the ball and looked to throw. That is the play. Bunt and make the pitcher cover first. Then run him down. But Maglie lingered in the safety of the mound. He would not move, and a second baseman named Davey Williams took his place. Lockman's throw reached Williams at first base. Then Robinson struck. A knee crashed into Williams' lower spine and Williams spun into the air, twisting grotesquely, and when he fell he lay in an awkward sprawl, as people do when they are seriously injured. He was carried from the field.

According to Kahn, two innings later Alvin Dark sought the Giants' revenge by hitting a double to left and then refusing to stop, going to third where he could take on Robinson ― and according to the story Robinson's dropped the ball trying to smash a tag into Dark's head. (UPDATE: Originally I wrote that this story does not match the game report ― but this was my mistake, I was looking at the wrong game. Williams was not carried from the field, and the game was in April and not May. But according to the newspaper report of the game, this is how it happened).

I remember the passage and re-read it every so often not for the history but for the emotion ― it reminds me of just how ferociously Robinson played. I have this theory ― one that I used to talk about sometimes with my old friend Buck O'Neil ― that Jackie Robinson was the type of player and the type of man who needed a purpose to bring out his greatness. We often hear about the opposite ― players who drive in meaningless runs or only seem to pitch well when the game is out of hand. People will talk all the time about how there are certain baseball players who can handle the pressure of playing in New York (even have that pressure lift their game) and certain players who cannot handle it all. I don't know how much I buy into it; I've always thought there is a worthwhile study to be done on the subject.

But I do believe that Jackie Robinson was a man who needed the intensity, the clarity of a cause, the fury of the bigots, the deep understanding that he was a player in American history ― needed all of it to crystalize his goals and become the player he became. Remember, Jackie Robinson was more athlete than baseball player when the Dodgers signed him. He was known in the black newspapers ― like the Kansas City Call and Chicago Defender ― as "UCLA football ace Jackie Robinson" or "famous track star Jackie Robinson." Baseball was famously his worst sport at UCLA (he hit about .100 in his one year) and he only played one year for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro Leagues. He made the East-West All Star game (he went zero-for-five) but the general perception at the time was that Robinson was not the best big league prospect on the Monarchs ― not with Satchel Paige and Hilton Smith on the team and Willard Brown coming back from the war and so on.

Also, Robinson was a bit older ― he was 28 when he made it to the big leagues.

Also, you will remember Bob Feller's scouting report on Robinson after seeing him play ― too tight in the shoulders, cannot hit an inside pitch, isn't skilled enough.

"If he were a white man," Feller said, "I doubt they would consider him big league material." And whatever this may say to you about Feller, remember, he had seen Robinson play, something few others could say in 1946. If Robinson was clearly a great player at the time, I doubt Feller would have said that.

The simple truth seems to be that Robinson was no sure thing as a baseball player. But he had some fame as an athlete. He had played with white players before and earned their respect. He was smart and focused. He had refused to go to the back of the bus while in the army, a bold step that led to his court-martial, where he was acquitted. As Buck O'Neil would often say, Jackie Robinson wasn't the BEST player. But he was the RIGHT player.

But what does this mean ― the RIGHT player? It seems to me that what has made Jackie Robinson perhaps the most important player in baseball history is not that he was the first African American to play in the big leagues. Somebody was going to be first. And it was not that he blended dignity and ferocity in equal measure, a hard balance that made him both the underdog and the favorite and the same time.

No, to me, his greatest contribution was simply that he was a GREAT player. He understood that he could not fail ― Robinson took a deep breath. Somebody else? What somebody else? Damn, there wasn't anybody else. ― that he was carrying the weight of the world and the moon and the stars on his shoulder, and that failure was too awful and too calamitous to even think about. If he failed, the bigots were right. If he failed, the cause was stalled. If he failed … well, he could not fair.

He did not fail. He scored a run in his first game, got two hits and a home run in his third, got three hits in his fourth. He scored 21 runs through his first 21 games. His batting average dropped to .263 in early June, and he promptly hit in 27 of his next 28 games, raising his batting average to .315 and leaving absolutely no doubt in anybody's mind that hate him or love him, Jackie Robinson was here to stay.

And I believe that it was a perfect intersection of man and moment; we will never know what kind of baseball player Jackie Robinson would have been had he come up in 1993, when, true, he would not have heard all the slurs and received all the death threats, but he also may not have had a great objective to drive him and the powerful conviction of being right.

That gets us back to Robinson's remarkable ability to get on base. That was at the core of his greatness as a player, I think. His career .409 on-base percentage ranks 23rd among non-active players with 5,000 or more plate appearances. What's more, over a six-year period ― from 1949-54 ― Robinson's on-base percentage was a staggeringly good .428. Only a small group of players (Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, Cobb, Williams and others from a distant age … Williams, Musial, Mantle and other from the middle ages … McGwire, Bonds, Edgar, Walker, Pujols of more recent vintage) have ever gotten on base like Jackie Robinson did in his prime. It was getting on base so much that allowed Robinson to score all those runs (99 or more his first seven years) and steal all those bases (twice led the league) and lead the Brooklyn Dodgers to six World Series.

Robinson got on base through sheer force. He almost never struck out. He walked a lot. He was hit by a lot of pitches for his era ― finished first, second or third in HBP seven times in his 10-year career. He bunted a lot (led the league in sacrifice hits twice). He hit the ball hard a lot (hit double digit home runs every year but one; was among league leaders in doubles and triples several times). He never stopped playing with fury … as one writer called him, he was a shooting star burning across the sky.

"He was a hard out," was the way Yogi Berra said it.

"I don't know any other ballplayer who could have done what he did," Pee Wee Reese told Roger Kahn.

"The greatest competitor I've ever seen," Duke Snider said at his Hall of Fame induction.

A hundred million words have been spilled trying to explain Jackie Robinson and his impact on the game and on America. But I have always liked this bit from the poet Langston Hughes. He used to write a column in the Chicago Defender revolving around a conversation with a character called SImple. In one especially memorable column, headlined "Matter for a Book," Simple announced that he went to see Jackie Robinson play ball the day before.

"But to get back to Jackie ― I did not mean to holler so loud when he stole them two bases yesterday, but I just could not help myself. I were so proud he were black, I couldn't keep my mouth shut. And as long as Jackie stays colored, I am going to holler when he's up to bat."

"Well, holler. Nobody's stopping you," I said. "But if Jackie were not good you would stop hollering, I bet you that."

Golden Boot

Golden BootLatest Update News About Golden Boot, While we're all extremely focused on the race for the scudetto and fourth place, there's another entertaining battle taking place in Italy, the race for the Golden Boot. It's interesting to break down the top scorers in the Serie A, and see the way they influence their team's table position. Here are the current top 10 scorers of the Serie A:Player ?? ? Team ?? ? Goals

Di Natale ?? ?Udinese ?? ?26

Milito ?? ?Inter ?? ?20

Miccoli ?? ?Palermo ?? ?18

Pazzini ?? ?Sampdoria ?? ?17

Gilardino ?? ?Fiorentina ?? ?15

Borriello ?? ?Milan ?? ?14

Vucinic ?? ?Roma ?? ?13

Matri ?? ?Cagliari ?? ?13

Barreto ?? ?Bari ?? ?13

Ham?ík ?? ?Napoli ?? ?12

Let's take a look at the 9th placed player, Barreto from Bari. The 24 year-old Brazilian is full of experience, a short quick striker who has played in prestigious tournaments like the UEFA Cup is making his mark on the Serie A. Helping keep Bari up and out of the relegation zone, he's an expert penalty taker and a cool finisher. But what should interest you the most is that he's actually on loan to Bari from Udinese who also hold the current top scorer in the Serie A, Di Natale. It's interesting to see how Di Natale has dragged Udinese into mid-table mediocrity with an astounding total of 26 goals. The Italian striker has really bloomed now that Quagliarella has left, and if Udinese were to bring back Barreto into the squad for next season, we could see a devastating strike partnership.

In second we find Diego Milito with 20 goals, the Argentinean is well known for being a versatile and extremely prolific goal-scorer, wherever he goes. His least prolific season was his first, when he scored 12 goals in 20 appearances for Genoa in the 2003/2004 season, and that's not bad at all. From then on he's moved to score plenty of goals, and could break his record this season with another goal in any competition, which would put him at 27 in all competitions and 21 in the Serie A.

At the very bottom of the list we find a young Slovakian midfielder at 12 goals, more than anyone else at his club, Napoli. Marek Hamsik, similar to Di Natale, is dragging Napoli into a Europa League spot, and the second-highest scorer at Napoli is Fabio Quagliarella, currently at 9 goals. It's astounding to see how Hamsik is supporting this team by scoring 25% of Napoli's goals and assisting 5 more, it certainly looks like he'll be snapped up by a bigger club this summer.

It's truly interesting to see how the top scorers of the league carry and affect their team in so many different ways, as the race for the golden boot continues on.

Sharma-Kohli Seal Emphatic Win For India

Bulawayo: Riding on a second consecutive century by Rohit Sharrma, India crushed Sri Lanka by 7 wickets, Sharma-Kohli Seal Emphatic Win For Indiachasing down the target of 243 runs in just 43.3 overs in the league match of the Micromax tri-series at Bulawayo.

India's successful run-chase was built around a brisk 154 run-partnership between Rohit and Virat Kohli for the third wicket, during which the duo blunted the toothless Sri Lankan attack with effortless ease.

Kohli himself struck a fine 82 runs off 92 balls, missing out on a well-deserved hundred.

Rohit on the otherhand, continued from where he had left against Zimbabwe, with a classy unbeaten 101 off just 100 deliveries, in a knock studded with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Skipper Suresh Raina, with a breezy 24 not-out off 23 balls, ensured that India completed the formalities in a comprehensive manner.

India's chase though had started off poorly when Murali Vijay, struggling to replicate his IPL form, delivered another flop performance.

He made just 14 runs. His statemate Dinesh Karthik too could not manage anything better, making just 18 runs.

At 47/2, Rohit and Kohli joined forces.

Sri Lanka make 242 all-out

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 242 runs as Indian bowlers, fresh from a mauling at the hands of Zimbabwe batsmen 48 hours ago, rose to the occasion to dish out disciplined performances.

All the bowlers chipped in with wickets with Ashok Dinda, Pragyan Ojha and Ravindra Jadeja snaring 2 scalps each. Umesh Yadav too managed to pick a wicket while Amit Mishra, though wicketless, with figures of 0/40 from 10 overs, emerged the most economical.

Sri Lankan innings lasted 49.5 overs.

Playing the role of a sheet anchor to the hilt, Angelo Mathews shepherded Sri Lanka towards the competitive total they eventually managed. With boundaries hard to come, sharp 'singles and doubles' were the modus operandi for the Sri Lankan vice-captain enroute a half-century, even as some lusty blows from Thissara Parera (32 runs, 23 balls) and Nuwan Kulasekara (19 runs, 14 balls) provided the innings with some late impetus.

Mathews, who himself was slow to start off, held the innings together, ensuring that Sri Lanka remained in hunt for a respectable score despite it's batsmen struggling.

He though picked up on the scoring rate in the end, before eventually falling for 75 runs (95 balls). He hit 2 fours and as many sixes until his dismissal in the 49th over.

In the morning, following a sedate start, Sri Lanka were 38/1 after 10 overs after India's stand-in skipper Suresh Raina had won the toss and in lieu of the moist conditions, opted to field first.

Upal Tharanga was the lone success India could manage in this early passage of play when the opener was run out for 1 run in just the second over, before, looking to break the shackles, Samaraweera perished for 19 runs.

Pragyan Ojha reaped gold in his very first over when he deceived Samaraweera with flight, only to have him stumped by an agile Dinesh Karthik.

Two wickets Sri Lanka brought up their 50 in the 14th over.

India enjoyed a lucky break when Tillakaratne Dilshan was run-out for 61 runs, against the run of play. Having batted himself into some form, a moment of hesitation caused him to lose the race to an accurate throw from Rohit Sharma.

His loss left Sri Lanka 97/3, before they brought up their 100 in the 25th over.

He lasted 84 balls, striking 4 fours and a six, forging a 58 run-partnership with Mathews for the third wicket.

Chamara Kapugedera hung around for a scratchy 20 off 48 balls before becoming Ravindra Jadeja had a measure of him.

Mathews presence however ensured that Sri Lankan bowlers had a target to bowl at.

But a mature batting display by Rohit and Kohli ensured a favorable result for India.

India:

World Cup Betting Big Business in Asia

World Cup Betting Big Business in AsiaSINGAPORE : People like a flutter and betting on football matches is big business, but in parts of Asia it is illegal and police across the region are cracking down ahead of the World Cup.

Tens of millions of dollars is expected to be wagered over the month-long football festival in South Africa on everything from who will win, to who scores the first goal or gets booked.

A large slice of this will change hands at market stalls or in underground gambling dens, often run by organised crime syndicates, and more still on online gambling websites, with thousands now available.

In Muslim Malaysia, where European football is hugely popular, sports betting was made legal this month to the ire of conservative, but the licences will not be ready in time for the World Cup.

With the Malaysian illegal sports betting market thought to be as much as 20 billion ringgit per annum (6.2 billion US), huge sums will be wagered during the tournament.

Police have set up a special taskforce to monitor online gambling activities.

“We will conduct raids on any outlet offering online betting. Such raids will be conducted regularly,” Zainuddin Yaakob, a local police chief in southern Johor state said.

Zainuddin said from January to early April some 1,700 computers were seized and 32 people arrested following raids in the state capital Johor Baharu.

In South Korea, government-listed firm Sports Toto holds the only license for betting on sports events, including the World Cup, handing over 25 percent of sales to the government.

But illegal activities still take place, particularly online.

“Illegal betting has been done mainly through private websites, and big money changes hands,” a culture and sports ministry official said, without giving an estimate.

“In cooperation with police, the government has cracked down on illegal betting sites, but it has been hard to eradicate them because of technical problems. Some sites are run through servers abroad.”

Some of Asia’s biggest betters are in China where underground rings are rife.

According to Titan Sports Weekly, the nation spent up to 500 billion yuan (73 billion dollars) on online gambling during 2006, the last time the World Cup was held. This amounted to about two percent of China’s GDP.

But over the last six months, police have embarked on a huge crackdown after corruption in the game was blown wide open with the arrest of China Football Association chief Nan Yong.

Betting is also illegal in India, except for horse-racing, but it is flourishing, with the industry worth an estimated one billion US dollars a year.

India may not have qualified for the World Cup, but the betting market will still be buzzing. Rajan Bhagat, from the Delhi police, said bookies were picked up every other day, but admitted that gambling never really stops.

“We do keep a watch at special events like the World Cup and will do the same this time too,” he said, but declined to reveal the measures being adopted to curb illegal betting. “It is not easy to get rid of the menace.”

Since 2003, Hong Kong punters have been able to bet on football matches through the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Nevertheless, undergound rings continue to thrive with illicit bookies offering better odds and spreads, as well as extending credit to punters, local reports say.

In September, Hong Kong police arrested six people for illegal bookmaking

and money-laundering involving more than 53 million Hong Kong dollars.

Another country where betting is legal is Australia, with the national team offered at 81-1 to win the tournament.

Sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane said there was more interest this time round, with bets starting in December as soon as the draw was announced.

Ghana Vs Australia

ghana vs australiaLatest Update News About Ghana Vs Australia: The Black Stars of Ghana? take on the Socceroos of Australia this afternoon in a crucial Group D clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg. This encounter will be a test of youth against experience with the youngest squad in the tournament, Ghana, facing the second-oldest in Pim Verbeek's side.

An 84th-minute penalty kick by Asamoah Gyan handed the West Africans a 1-0 win against Serbia on Sunday. Ghana is hoping to become just the second African nation after Nigeria to qualify for the Round of 16 of the World Cup a second time.

Australia, on the other hand, was beaten by Germany 4-0 in their opening game courtesy of goals from Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Thomas Mueller and Cacau. A win for Verbeek's men would have Socceroos fans delirious with celebration, but another loss would mean the end of their 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign.

These two teams have met on six previous occasions with Australia winning four and the Black Stars one. A win over the Socceroos would not guarantee Ghana passage to the next round, but it would mean the African side would need only a draw against Germany in their final group fixture to seal the deal.

The match kicks-off at 16:00 CET (10:00 a.m. ET).

UPDATE: The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Australia, but moved to the top of Group D with four points from two games.

Nfl Player Found Dead

Nfl Player Found DeadLatest News Update ABout Nfl Player Found Dead: Nfl Player Found Dead Update Denver Broncos wide receiver Kenny McKinley has been found dead in his home, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities have said.

Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said authorities were called to McKinley's home by a woman friend of the player who found his body after returning from an errand with his child.

He didn't say if investigators found a suicide note.

"It's still part of our investigation and probably nothing we'll talk about right now," he said.

The Broncos have endured a series of tragedies in recent years.

Cornerback Darrent Williams was killed in a drive-by shooting on New Year's Day 2007 and three months later backup running back Damien Nash collapsed and died after a charity basketball game in St. Louis, Missouri.

"Everyone with the Broncos is shocked and saddened by the loss of Kenny McKinley," Pat Bowlen, owner of the NFL team, said in a statement. "He was part of the Broncos' family and will be greatly missed by our organization. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Kenny's family and friends."

The Broncos said coach Josh McDaniels would meet with the media on Tuesday.

YouTube Down

YouTube is down for some Internet users and speculation among the web is that Google has been hacked once again by Chinese attackers. These are some "wild words" but considering the fact that Google has declared war to the Chinese government makes us think that we're witnessing another phase of the battle. If YouTube is down for you then you probably are seeing an Error 500 Internal Server which says Http/1.1 Service Unavailable.

Google's YouTube works well for me and the search giant hasn't made an official statement about the issues, which might not be related to Chinese hackers. It's not a global YouTube outage so it might or it might not be a cyber attack on Google, but we should wait for the company to say something before jumping into conclusions.

Let us know if YouTube works for you, and stay tuned cause we'll let you know as soon as Google releases a statement!(softsailor.com)

Labeled as a whiz kid and bright offensive mind early in his career, Gruden was groomed in the NFL as an offensive assistant and wide receiver coach under Mike Holmgren in Green Bay. In 1995, at the age of 31, he was hired as offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles and in ’98 became the youngest head coach in the NFL at the age of 38 when he was hired by the Raiders.

Gruden took over a Raiders team that finished 4-4 and went 8-8 his first two seasons, then 12-4 in his third, with the Raiders reaching the AFC Championship Game but losing to eventual Super Bowl champion Baltimore. Oakland made the playoffs again in 2001, but were eliminated by the New England Patriots in the infamous “Tuck Rule” game in the snow at Foxboro, Mass. A month later, Gruden signed a five-year, $17.5 million deal with the Bucs. His fiery and emotional ways were credited with elevated the Bucs, who’d failed to score a touchdown in their three playoff losses, with the kick the team needed to get over the hump and win a championship.? ? Australia Can ‘Sort out’ Afridi in Tests: Ponting

Australia Can 'Sort out' Afridi in Tests: PontingMELBOURNE: Ricky Ponting is confident Australia can get the better of Shahid Afridi, the new Pakistan captain, during the two Tests in England in July.

Afridi will be the third man to captain Pakistan in Tests since the start of 2009 and Ponting is unconvinced that he is one of Pakistan’s best 11 Test players. Ponting said he was confident Australia’s pace attack would be able to counter Afridi’s attacking style in the five-day game.

“Yeah I’m pretty sure we do,” Ponting told Ausralian news agency. “He hasn’t played much Test cricket of late, has he? If you read between the lines he’s almost in there as that leader and captain, not necessarily one of their best Test players. So we’ll test him out.

“Even in the one -dayers in Australia last season with our quicks bowling the way they did to him, I think we can sort him out in Test cricket for sure. I see Shoaib Malik’s life ban has been lifted as well, so who knows what happens around their set-up, but we know they’re a dangerous team.

“I guess with him being captain of the Twenty20 side it was a natural progression for him to be the Test captain with all the rest of the guys they’ve tried there not having succeeded. But that’s all irrelevant stuff to us, it doesn’t matter who’s captain and it doesn’t matter who’s playing, we just have to make sure we’re focusing on our little things to be the best team we can be when we play them.”

The two Tests at Lord’s and Headingley could be Australia’s last five-day outings before the Ashes, although their October tour of India could yet include two Test matches. However, Ponting said it was important not to look too far ahead and lose sight of the challenge that Pakistan will pose.

“I guess we speak pretty loosely don’t we about looking forward to the Ashes and all that, and we are, but it’s not with both eyes,” he said. “We’ve got one eye on that and one eye on what we need to get in place to make sure we’re the best team we can be for November.”

Denmark Crush Cameroon’s World Cup Hopes

Denmark crush Cameroon's World Cup hopesDenmark ended Cameroon’s hopes of reaching the last 16 of the World Cup with a 2-1 victory here on Saturday, a result which means Group E leaders Holland become the first team to qualify for the next round. Cameroon scored first when Samuel Eto’o coolly shot into the corner of the net after 10 minutes after a pass from midfield was intercepted, but Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner struck back for the Danes, converting a cross in the 33rd minute.

Jon Dahl Tomasson was denied by a post shortly before half-time in a match full of defensive errors.

But Dennis Rommedahl gave Denmark the lead, curling a neat finish around Cameroon ‘keeper Hamidou Souleymanou on 61 minutes.

Despite several scoring opportunities the west Africans saw their hopes of progressing further in the competition vanish.

Deccan Chargers Cheerleaders

deccan chargers cheerleadersDeccan Chargers Cheerleaders, With Kolkata Knight Riders back to their winning ways after an emphatic victory over the Deccan Chargers, Kolkata and the hallowed Eden Gardens partied late into the night.

The historic Eden Gardens resembled more than a cricket stadium. With an IPL ticket being advertised as ‘sabse bada ticket’, one not only got to watch an exciting Twenty20 cricket match here Thursday but also entered the ‘party zone’ with DJ’S and loud music!

The scenario was no different Thursday when the Knights fought gallantly with their general ‘Dada’ alias Sourav Ganguly leading the victory march with a blistering 88 off 54 balls against defending champions Deccan Chargers.

The Big Bash had begun almost one-and-a-half hours before the start of the crucial match, with the DJ on the house playing rocking chartbusters from ‘We will Rock You’ to ‘Marjani!’ And every time the Knight Riders Anthem, ‘Korbo Lorbo Jitbo re’ hit the ears of the almost packed crowd, the cheer engulfed the Mecca of Cricket completely.

And the cheerleaders got such an overwhelming reception! Whistles flew in from every hook and corner of the ground, no less than what The Prince of Kolkata and Chris Gayle got when they came out to bat.

‘This is my first time at the Eden Gardens and I’m loving every bit of it. To be very honest, the addition of the cheerleaders is what makes the IPL so spicy and hot!’ yelled a candid college goer.

‘The IPL ticket is truly one to die for, dude. If you want T20 cum night club experience, this is the place to be. Cheerleaders make the climate hotter!’ admitted a smiling 24-year-old youth.

‘Dada is back. That is the best of today’s match. Paisa wasool totally. Dadagiri is here to stay! Joy Dada…,’ screamed a bunch of excited office goers, all in their late 20′s or early 30′s maybe.

Brazil into Last 16 After Beating Ivory Coast

Brazil qualified for the last 16 of the World Cup with a 3-1 win against Ivory Coast in their Group G clash at Soccer City on Sunday, but had star midfielder Kaka controversially sent off.

Kaka was dismissed for a second yellow card in the final minutes for pushing Abdelkader Keita, but the Ivorian wildly exaggerated the impact of the shove by falling to the ground clutching his head.

Brazil coach Dunga was left almost speechless by the sending off.

“It was a totally unjustified dismissal of Kaka, he was fouled and yet he was punished. The player who commits the foul escapes the yellow card, I have to congratulate him for that.

“We are left a bit in doubt, what do we have to do in order not to receive these yellow cards?”

Sevilla forward Luis Fabiano showed Brazilian flair for both his goals which takes the South American giants into the knockout phase with their final group game against Portugal still to come.

Ivory Coast coach Sven-Goran Eriksson felt the second yellow card against Kaka was warranted and said the Brazilians should not complain after there was more than a hint of handball in Luis Fabiano’s second goal.

“I heard Brazil complain a lot, but I don’t think they should, it is extra difficult when Fabiano is allowed to use his hands. It was not just once, it was twice,” said the Swede.

But Eriksson feels Brazil have the mark of potential world champions.

“I think the Brazil team can go all the way, they have quality especially in defence,” he said.

“You need to be almost perfect to beat Brazil. In every way they are good, they are very good.”

Midfielder Elano compounded Ivory Coast’s misery with a well-taken shot on 62 minutes after some great work on the left wing from Kaka before Didier Drogba scored a late consolation goal on 79 minutes.

But Elano was later stretchered off the field with what appeared to be a nasty shin injury.

Chelsea striker Drogba started for the Ivory Coast despite his broken arm, but he was largely overshadowed as Dunga’s side lived up to their mantra Joga Bonito – play beautifully – with some Brazilian magic.

The Brazilians opened the scoring when Kaka slotted a pass between two defenders for Luis Fabiano to blast his shot high into the net past Elephants’ goalkeeper Boubacar Barry on 25 minutes.

The Elephants finished the half on the attack with Portsmouth forward Aruna Dindane testing Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar, but it stayed 1-0 at the break.

Luis Fabiano again showed his class as his three touches – with a suspicion of handball – saw him beat three defenders before rifling his shot past Barry who could only get a glove to the ball on 52 minutes.

Elano, who also scored in Brazil’s 2-1 win over North Korea in their opening game, then got in on the act when Kaka squared the ball from the left wing for the Galatasaray midfielder to score after an hour.

But within minutes he had to leave the field after a lunging studs-up challenge from an Ivorian. The match ended in a controversial fashion, with Kaita picking up a yellow card for a dangerous tackle which clipped the ankle of Michel Bastos on 75 minutes.

Drogba got on the score sheet when he beat Brazil’s offside trap for an unmarked header which rolled past goalkeeper Julio Cesar with 11 minutes left.

Brazil into last 16 after beating Ivory CoastKaka Picked up a yellow card for a push on Yaya Toure on 85 minutes and it turned into a red three minutes later when Keita ran into the Brazilian who was looking the other way, and then crumpled to the floor, clutching his face.

The referee reached for the cards and a disbelieving Kaka was dismissed.

Brazil face Portugal in their final group match on Friday in Durban, while the Ivory Coast face North Korea in Nelspruit at the same time.

Pakistan, England Aquare Up For Series Decider

Pakistan, England Aquare Up For Series DeciderPakistan's scandal-filled tour of England reaches its conclusion at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday with the deciding match of a closely fought one-day series that has been overshadowed by fresh fixing claims against both teams. Pakistan lost the opening two matches of the five-game series but drew level thanks to a 38-run victory at Lord's on Monday, and momentum was firmly behind the tourists.

"I've just told the players the best answer to all of what's gone on is to play to your potential, which they have done," Pakistan coach Waqar Younis said.

Relations between the countries have hit a new low after Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt accused England's players of deliberately losing the third one-dayer at The Oval on Friday.

Despite England's outrage and threats of legal action against Butt, the series continued at Lord's under a cloud of controversy and with clear tension between the teams.

Wahab Riaz, one of four Pakistan players to have been questioned by police earlier in the tour over allegations of spot fixing, and England batsman Jonathan Trott were involved in an altercation in the nets before the match.

The England and Wales Cricket Board initially said there had simply been an exchange of words but Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has since claimed Trott said to Riaz "you are a match fixer, what you are doing, you people have killed test cricket." The pair was also reported to have clashed physically.

There was no bad blood on the pitch but Pakistan came through the match stronger as England, chasing 266 to win, collapsed to 227 all out from 113 without loss.

England captain Andrew Strauss is expecting the fifth one-dayer to be played in calmer conditions.

"It is going to be harder than Monday's game, because it was so new and raw and there was a lot of emotion around," he said.

"I think, and hope, things will calm down to a certain extent before the next game."

Younis will ask for more of the same from his young side, which seems to have been galvanized by the difficult end to the tour.

"I'm so pleased the boys have kept their cool. I'm really proud of them," he said.

The tour has been dogged by scandal ever since three players Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir were implicated in spot-fixing allegations following a newspaper sting during the fourth test at Lord's.

The trio was charged and suspended under the ICC's anti-corruption code and questioned by police before returning to Pakistan. Riaz was also interviewed by Scotland Yard but released without charge.

Then came fresh corruption allegations on Saturday when an investigation was opened by the International Cricket Council following claims the scoring in Pakistan's innings in Friday's one-dayer was prearranged.

Ijaz Butt believes there is "definitely a conspiracy against Pakistan cricket" and has threatened to sue those behind it.

Afridi said as much on Tuesday and praised the way his team has finished the tour under the circumstances.

"Plans are there and behind the scenes people are trying to finish off this team," Afridi said.

Poptropica Cheats For MythologyPoptropica Cheats For Mythology, Poptropica is a massively multiplayer online game and virtual world, targeted at children ages 6 to 15, where players can travel, play games, compete in head-to-head competition, and communicate safely with each other. There is a role-playing component as players are encouraged to finish "island missions" and get medallions. Poptropica was developed by the Family Education Network, a division of Pearson, which also owns kids' site FunBrain.com. Poptropica has an Alexa Internet rating of 2,166. Its official launch date was in September 2007. It now has over 75 million registered users and about 35 million of these are in the 15-25 age group.

On May 30, 2009, Poptropica began selling "Poptropica credits" online. The credits are used to "buy" costumes that cannot be costumized and special abililties such as the ability to change the player's character's hair or skin color quickly. Credits can also be earned through the completion of different islands.

Once a player enters Poptropica, he chooses an island to explore; as noted before, each island has a central mission. To travel between islands, the user boards a blimp with the Poptropica logo, which shuttles between the Main Streets of the various islands.

Early Poptropica was the first island created for Poptropica.

24 Carrot Island is the fourth island released on Poptropica. The Poptropicans on 24 Carrot Island are in trouble. Someone has stolen all their carrots, citizens are disappearing, and the economy, which appears to be based on carrots, is in ruins.

Super Power Island is the fifth Island released for Poptropica. A giant radioactive meteor has crashed into Super Power Island's county prison, freeing six criminals and giving them super powers. Now they are wreaking havoc on the island, committing various crimes. The player must defeat five villains using wits alone, and earn the power to fly (only on Super Power Island). The final villain, Betty Jetty, can only be defeated by flying after her. The island was opened on July 26, 2008.

Spy Island is the sixth island released for Poptropica. In this plot, a new threat to the residents of Poptropica has been discovered by Poptropica's top three spies, but the spies have been captured by an evil group called B.A.D. The island was opened on September 10, 2008.

T20 WC; Pakistan score 191-6 against Australia in semiGROS ISLET : Pakistan made 191 for six against Australia in the World Twenty20 semi-final here on Friday after losing the toss.

Australia captain Michael Clarke won the toss and elected to field against Pakistan in the World Twenty20 semi-final at the Beausejour Stadium here on Friday.

Australia were unchanged from the side that knocked hosts the West Indies out of the tournament with a six-wicket win here on Tuesday.

The teams have already met once in this competition, with Australia beating Pakistan by 34 runs in a first round group clash here on May 2.

Whoever wins this match will face England in Sunday’s final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, after Paul Collingwood’s side convincingly defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the first semi-final at Beausejour here on Thursday.
