India's Sehwag crushes Bangladesh with ballDAMBULLA, Sri Lanka: Gautam Gambhir’s impressive 82 guided India to an easy six-wicket win against Bangladesh in the second Asia Cup cricket match on Wednesday. Chasing 168 runs to win, India reached the target with 19 overs to spare at Rangiri Dambulla Stadium.


Earlier, Virender Sehwag proved his versatility by taking 4-6, including three wickets in the final over, to help to dismiss Bangladesh for 167 inside 35 overs. It was Sehwag’s career-best performance in one-day internationals as a part-time offspin bowler.


Bangladesh was 155-5 in the 30th over then lost its last four wickets for no runs.


Opener Imrul Kayes led Bangladesh with 37.





Opening for India, Gambhir faced 101 balls and hit five boundaries for his 20th limited-overs half-century.


Sehwag was out for 11 at 37-1 when he was caught by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim off seamer Mashrafe Mortaza.


India faced a scare when two wickets fell in successive balls to Bangladesh captain Sakib Al Hasan with the total on 80.


Virat Kohli was stumped by Rahim for 11 and Rohit Sharma departed for a first-ball duck trapped leg before.


But skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gambhir took their side to safety with a stand of 78. Gambhir was trapped leg before by Mortaza within sight of victory, and in the same over Dhoni finished the match with two successive boundaries to end on 38 not out.


Mortaza took 2-37 and Hasan 2-49.


Sri Lanka won the opening match of the four-nation tournament, beating Pakistan by 16 runs on Tuesday.


Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh in the next match on Friday.
