Mcnabb Redskins, QB Donovan McNabb was dealt from Philadelphia to Washington tonight in a rare deal involving a Pro Bowl QB and two teams within the same division.
McNabb had spent his entire career with Philly since being selected second overall in 1999, but, with Kevin Kolb and Mike Vick also under contract for 2010, was available via trade. The Eagles were unable to land a first-round pick for him, but did get the 37th overall pick for him ― just outside the first round ― as well as a third or fourth-round pick in 2011, depending on McNabb's performance.
Kolb takes over as the Eagles' starter ― he had consecutive 300-yard outings filling in for McNabb in 2009 ― and McNabb heads down I-95 to take over starting duties for Jason Campbell, who is very likely to be shopped around the league now. McNabb, 33, will be Washington's starter, making over $11 million in 2010, and also makes it far less likely the Skins take a quarterback with the fourth-overall pick (Washington badly needs tackles).
