Derek Jeter Hit By Pitch Video

Latest News Update About Derek Jeter Hit By Pitch Video: Derek Jeter Hit by Pitch, Fake Acting Video Derek Jeter Cheater Acting as if you got hit with a pitch when you really didn't is nothing new in baseball. In fact, it is the sport's equivalent of taking a dive in soccer or flopping in basketball. In a sport where you are supposed to do whatever you can to get on base, it is strange that we decide to criticize someone so much when they use their acting skills to do so.

In the top of the seventh inning last night, Jeter was at the plate when a pitch from the Rays' Chad Qualls looked as though it hit him in the left arm. Jeter certainly acted as if it had. However, thank god for slow motion replays, because on a second look it was painfully obvious that the pitch had actually hit the end of his bat. Lance Barksdale ruled that Jeter had been hit by the pitch, much to the chagrin of the Rays dugout.

Then, center fielder Curtis Granderson followed the play with his 18th home run of the season, giving the Yankees the lead in the pivotal game with their division opponentJeter would later admit that the ball hit the bat and that he sold the call with his acting ability. Now, the question is; does that make Derek Jeter a cheater? Yankees fans say no. Baseball fans tend to say yes. It is an interesting debate, but judging by the fact that Jeter was open about his actions after the game, he seems to think that it is not that big of a deal.
