Winter Olympics 2010 Opening Ceremonies, Latest news updates, Today will see many a festivities in Vancouver as the winter Olympics 2010 opening ceremonies kick off later in the day. This will be the twenty-first time that the winter Olympics take place and the lucky citizens of British Columbia will be queuing in long lines to get front row seats. The winter Olympics 2010 opening ceremonies are going to be funded by the Harper Government, a move which has been faced with many disapprovals as it implies government interference in matters of exercise and art.





The vice-president for communications Renee has reassured the concerned personnel that the government will not be bringing any influences of politics into the winter Olympics 2010 opening ceremonies. As well as not being able to bring any politics into the games, the government has been deprived of any veto powers that it may have held over the winter Olympics 2010 opening ceremonies.


This will be the third time in its history that Canada will be hosting the Olympics though its going to be a first time for the province of British Columbia. The events will alternate locations shifting from Richmond, a suburb of Vancouver, and Whistler, a small resort town in in BC.


The last time that Canada was given the privilege of hosting the Olympics was in the year 1988 when it hosted the winter Olympics in Calgary, a city in Alberta. The time before that was more than thirty years ago in 1976 when Canada was the proud host of the summer Olympics in the city of Montreal, Quebec.
