Ncaa Bracket Update, March 18 (Bloomberg) ― Ohio University upset third- seeded Georgetown University, and No. 2 Villanova needed overtime to avoid a first-round loss, on the opening day of the men's college basketball national tournament. Ohio and Murray State provided the biggest surprises today. The Bobcats defeated Georgetown 97-83 to become the first 14th seed to upset a No. 3 seed since 2006, when Northwestern State eliminated Iowa. Murray State, a 13th seed, knocked off No. 4 Vanderbilt 66-65 when Danero Thomas hit a jump shot at the final buzzer.
