For Mexico the match is the second in a series of six friendlies in the United States as they prepare to open their World Cup campaign against hosts South Africa on June 11. In the first match, Mexico beat Bolivia 5-0 in San Francisco on last Wednesday.

After playing Mexico, New Zealand will travel to Europe in late May for further warm-ups against Serbia and Slovenia.


In the first round of the World Cup they are drawn in Group F with defending champions Italy, Slovakia and Paraguay.


New Zealand played in the Confederations Cup last year, losing 0-5 to Spain, and 0-2 to South Africa.


The Kiwis are currently ranked 79th by FIFA but are going to the World Cup thanks to an easy qualifying group.
