Keith Hernandez

Former baseball star Keith Hernandez has always been a winner — on and off the field. He keeps himself in game shape even today. A big part of keeping his good looks is using Just For Men? Haircolor. To learn more about his all-star baseball career, read on… or to learn more about rejuvenating your own life with Just For Men, check out the rest of our site using the above links. Born on Mickey Mantle’s birthday (October 20th), Keith Hernandez was the greatest defensive first baseman of his time — and maybe the best in big league history.

Keith won an astonishing eleven consecutive Gold Glove awards — the most by any first baseman in history. His well-rounded style of play also led him to become the 1979 batting champion and league MVP. No wonder he was a five-time All-Star.

His achievements in the field and at bat would be enough to place him on almost anybody’s list of the major stars. But Keith was also a powerful asset to his teams as a leader, including his time as team captain of the New York Mets.

Not too surprising when you consider that Keith is an avid student of Civil War history and its generals. He even gave a speech to the history faculty of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Keith’s post-baseball career has been successful and rewarding. He wrote a unique, insightful book “Pure Baseball: Pitch by Pitch for the Advanced Fan”, which gives fans a detailed pitch-by-pitch player’s look into baseball strategy.

Keith is also a well-respected sports analyst, broadcasting on The Madison Square Garden network, Fox Sports Net and New York’s WB11. He’s also a major supporter of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
