Pakistan registered their worst-ever performance in the hockey World Cup as a resilient Canada pushed the Asian team to last place in the megaevent with a golden goal victory today. A spirited Canada, played aggressive hockey to beat Pakistan and finish 11th in the Hockey World Cup 2010. Pakistan finished at the bottom in Hockey World Cup – a humiliation for four-time World Champion. Both teams were locked 2-2 in the stipulated time. The match went to extra time. Pakistan's penalty corner specialist Sohail Abbas missed two chances in extra-time, allowing the Canadians to regroup. Scott Tupper of Canada scored the golden goal through a penalty corner and helped his team win the match 3-2. It was Canada’s first victory in the World Cup Hockey 2010. For Canada, Connor Grimes, Mark Pearson and Scott Tupper scored the goals. For Pakistan, Rehan Butt and Akhtar Ali scored the goals.
