Pan Mass Challenge

Pan Mass ChallengeLatets News Update About Pan Mass Challenge: This weekend the Pan Mass Challenge starts and over 5,000 cyclists will begin to ride for the goal of $31 million dollars in funding for cancer research at Dana Farber via the Jimmy Fund. Every rider has to raise at least $4,200 and you very well may know somebody riding who needs your help. Go to the Pan Mass Challenge web site and look for friends by searching for their names using the upper left corner search box.

As he did last year, Paris-Roubaix winner and Tour de France stage winner Magnus Backstedt will be flying out from Europe to participate. You have the opportunity to meet Backstedt this Wednesday from 8-10pm at a fundraiser being held at The Washington Square Tavern (714 Washington Street, Brookline). There is no admission fee, just a suggested donation as well as cycling memorabilia and autographed items that Backstedt will be selling to fund his ride. You can also contribute online by buying his Magnus Maximus Coffee which donates proceeds to his PMC efforts.

Backstedt is being hosted by PMC Team Forza-G who will be riding with him all the way from the New York border starting on Friday, thus making their ride truly “pan-Mass”. Last year we rode most of the first day with Forza-G and Backstedt, this year we are riding the entire 300+/- miles from West Stockbridge to Provincetown and will be giving you a full report of the ride next week. Feel free to follow us on our Facebook support page or our Pan Mass Challenge profile page where we collect donations.

This is a great event that collects more than 50% of the funds that power Dana Farber. You can also help all cyclists by giving them a break on the roads and passing them safely. Follow the PMC on TV by watching the PMC Kickoff Show – LIVE – on NECN this Friday, August 6 at 7:00pm.
