Bobby Lashley

bobby lashleyLatest News Update About Bobby Lashley: The massive Bobby Lashley met Chad Griggs in the first main card fight of the night. Bobby shot a beautiful double leg ducking under one of Griggs’ punches, then found himself in side control. Over two minutes into the fight he kept Griggs’ back to the mat and was landing an occasional punch, despite Griggs bucking often. A failed pass to mount eventually led to Griggs standing, only to be rushed by the huge Lashley, and slammed to the mat again. Once again Griggs stands and lands a very solid knee to the gut of Lashley. With only a minute and a half left, the men clinch against the cage, Lashley putting all his weight on him. Just at one minute left, they are separated. Lashley instantly shoots the double again, but eats a hard uppercut, yet remains calm, landing the hard double. The round finishes with Lashley on top, but bleeding badly.

In between round we see that it’s a big gash under the left eye that is the source of the blood. Lashley doesn’t look phased though. Round two begins with Lashley feinting strikes, then landing a big slam. As much flak as he gets, the man is as powerful as they come. Lashley gets comfortable in half guard, but isn’t accomplishing anything other than control. Griggs tries to stay active on his back, but Lashley is just too massive. One would wonder if Lashley would do better with elbows allowed on the ground. Lashley gets mount just over three minutes left in the round and the offense starts to show. Griggs just can’t buck him, even using the cage to his advantage, Lashley remains firmly planted. Lashley becomes tentative after the initial flurry, but he’s doing much more damage here, landing hard punches often. A minute left in the bout and theres a strange standup, apparently to check the cut of Lashley’s. The big man is winded, but wants to continue. They remain standing.

Thirty seconds remain and Lashley shoots a desperate double leg, Griggs landing hard punches at the end of the round, and looking crazy dominant there. Lashley can’t stand and the ref calls it in between rounds! Not good for Lashley, but congrats to Griggs and his mutton chops on taking out the big man.
